Numgeo Workshop 2025 in Weimar

On February 19 and 20, 2025, the numgeo Workshop 2025 took place at the Bauhaus University Weimar. With more than 50 participants from both Germany and abroad, as well as from renowned industry companies and research institutions, the event was a great success.

During the workshop, presentations were given by the numgeo developers from the Technical University of Darmstadt, Bauhaus University Weimar, and Ruhr-University Bochum. From the Institute of Geotechnics,Jan Machaček (Core Developer von numgeo), Antaeus Bettmann (PFEM) and Rahul Dogra participated.

A broad range of topics was covered, highlighting the diverse applications of numgeo and the latest developments in this field. Among the topics discussed were:

  • The graphical user interface of numgeo (Rahul Dogra)
  • Large deformations using the Particle Finite Element Method (Antaeus Bettmann)
  • The modelling of unsaturated soil states and swellable soils
  • Offshore geotechnics
  • Stability analyses

Participants gained valuable insights into the potential of numgeo for solving geotechnical challenges and had the opportunity to apply the software in practice.
