‘In the future Eurocode 7 – Part 3, ground improvement will be given considerably more space and weight than before. As it covers a very wide spectrum within geotechnics, from dynamic intensive compaction and pile-like elements to grouting and jet grouting, it is difficult to develop a standardised design approach. In order to cover the widest possible range of design tasks, a system of several design models was therefore developed. These models and the resulting requirements within the further developed safety concept of the future Eurocode 7 will be presented in detail in this lecture.’
