Prof Hauke Zachert elected to the Board of Trustees of the Stiftung Bauwesen

The Stiftung Bauwesen has taken on the topic of building and society – building is a social task.
In particular, it wants to show civil engineers what responsibility they have for society with their work and the foundation wants to show in public discourse that building – especially public building – is a necessary communal task.
Prof Hauke Zachert was elected to the Board of Trustees of the Stiftung Bauwesen on 1 July 2024.
“As a representative of TU Darmstadt, I want to use my membership of the Board of Trustees to strengthen the attractiveness of the civil engineering profession and emphasise the importance of our work in society. The Civil Engineering Foundation organises an annual conference in Stuttgart with very high-calibre speakers, combined with an excursion on a selected topic. The foundation invites students from the universities of Darmstadt, Kaiserslautern and Stuttgart to this event, thus ensuring a professional exchange and networking beyond the boundaries of their own universities. I think the programme is very attractive for our students and I am pleased to be able to help shape it in the future.
Deputy Professor Dr Jörg Fenner from the Institute of Construction Management will continue to lead the organisation of this event for TU Darmstadt and I look forward to working with him.”
